Nice to see he kept busy after "American Beauty."
All joking aside, this is a cool, funny, touching, and beautifully shot and scored short film by Ramin Bahrani, part of the Independent Television Service's online "Futurestates" series. Entitled Plastic Bag, it follows a plastic grocery bag on its existential quest for meaning around the world and far into the future (that's non-biodegradable for you). In addition to opening the door to potentially countless American Beauty jokes, it has the added bonus of none other than the great Werner Herzog providing the voice of the bag. It's shown at Venice, New York, Telluride, and South by Southwest, and now I bring it to you. Enjoy.
